Our history dates back to 1911 when Charles Hook Tompkins founded our company, Tompkins Builders – a prominent name synonymous with construction in the Washington, DC area. We offer a full range of construction-related services in both the private and public sectors. From Pre-construction to Construction Management, Design-Build Contracting to General Contracting, our firm specializes in base-building construction, renovations, restorations, additions, and tenant fit-out projects. These disciplines, along with quality service, results-oriented management, and experienced personnel, provide the foundation of our construction practice.

Over the years, our company has evolved into a prominent force throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. Currently, we manage construction projects valued at over $500M, and are supported by an experienced team of over 150 customer-oriented personnel. Additionally, Tompkins is recognized as one of the largest General Contractors in the Washington, DC area, and has received over 200 construction awards.
