Core Competencies
Tompkins' core competencies are commercial, government,
hospitality, and residential projects. Our commercial projects
include both urban and suburban office and retail buildings,
university and school buildings, and hospital and medical buildings.
Major office projects include the Thurgood Marshall Federal
Judiciary Building, the Ronald Reagan Building and International
Trade Center, the International Monetary Fund, and more recently, 900
Seventh Street. Other commercial projects are Building #215,
Portsmouth Naval Hospital and Gallery Place, a mixed use
entertainment and retail mall with both residential and office
building components. Tompkins has a long history of constructing
federal government projects dating back to 1922, from the Reflection
Pool to the recently completed National World War II Memorial. Our
hospitality projects include Hilton, Sheraton, Marriott, Monaco, and Sofitel hotels. Tompkins is also the minority partner in the $350
million Gaylord Hotel Resort and Convention Center project.
Sovereign Park Apartments at 1210 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, won
Tompkins Project of the Year in the High-rise Residential category.
Other award winners include: The National World War II Memorial (AON
Build America Award), Seattle Courthouse (GSA Design Award), Gallery
Place (Washington Business Journal Community Development Award), and
FDA’s Life Science Laboratory Building (DC-MD NAIOP Award).
