Station Place Building II Recognized For Excellence in
Construction
Washington, D.C., October 19, 2006
Yesterday, Tompkins Builders, Inc. was recognized by the Associated
General Contractors of Metropolitan Washington DC for excellence in
construction on Station Place Building II. The 10-story, 530,000-SF
building received a Washington Contractor Award for New Construction
during the 6th Annual Washington Contractor Awards Ceremony. Last
month, Station Place Building II also received the 2006 Excellence
in Construction Award by the Associated Builders and Contractors of
Metropolitan Washington.
Station Place Building II is an excellent example of successful
and innovative implementation of new construction in a high traffic
urban setting. Located next to Union Station, and mere blocks away
from the US Capitol, construction on Station Place Building II
included a high level of design, extraordinary community outreach
efforts, and innovative and new technologies and construction
techniques.
Ed Small, President of Tompkins Builders stated, “Tompkins is
extremely proud that Station Place Building II continues to receive
accolades and recognition. On behalf of the company, I would like to
thank the Associated General Contractors of Metropolitan Washington
DC for this honor. ”
