Unified Communications Center Named Recipient of a 2007 WBC
Craftsmanship Award

Tompkins Builders is pleased to announce that the Unified
Communications Center (UCC) has received a 2007 Washington Building
Congress Craftsmanship Award in the Special Construction Category
for Acoustical Ceiling Systems. Completed by Jair Lynch / Tompkins
Joint Venture in September 2006, the building will be honored on
Friday March 30th during the 2007 WBC Craftsmanship Awards Banquet.
The Unified Communications Center is a 4-story, 140,000-SF new
and innovative consolidated communications center for the
Washington, DC government. The center houses the Office of the
Unified Communications, which includes a call center and dispatching
functions for all public safety; as well as the DC Emergency
Management Agency, which includes its Emergency Operation Center and
the Regional Incidents Command and Control center. JP Construction
was responsible for the purchase, coordination, and installation of
the UCC’s award-winning Decoustics Claro custom acoustical ceiling.
