Tompkins Celebrates Topping Out of Bethesda View, Monarch

Washington, D.C., January 2, 2007
In recent weeks, Tompkins Builders celebrated the topping out of two major projects—Bethesda View Condominiums, also named the Adagio, and Monarch Condominiums. The projects are scheduled to be completed in July and September 2007 respectively.

Owned by Sheridan Development, Bethesda View is a distinctive luxury condominium
building that features private terraces, nine and 10-foot ceilings, spectacular views, and
floor-to-ceiling windows. Additionally, the 314,600-SF, 92-unit building includes 5
levels of underground parking, office and retail space.

The Monarch is a mixed-use building comprised of 168 luxury condominiums, street
level retail space and two floors of underground parking. Standing six stories high and
located in Old Town Alexandria, the project covers an entire city block and will be the
centerpiece of the neighborhood. The Monarch, which is owned by Diamond Properties
of Alexandria, LLC, consists of four buildings surrounding a central courtyard area as
well as “green roof” terrace areas at the penthouse level.

Tompkins Builders President Ed Small said, “We are extremely proud to be celebrating
this building milestone for Bethesda View and The Monarch, and I would like to thank
everyone involved for their efforts. These outstanding projects solidify Tompkins’
position as a leading contractor in mixed-use and residential construction.”
