Prince George’s Community College Awards Tompkins | Gilford Contract to Construct Center for Health Studies in Largo, MD

Tompkins Builders of Washington, D.C., was recently awarded the contract to build a Center for Health Studies for Prince George’s Community College in Largo, MD. Tompkins was awarded this contract as part of a joint venture with Gilford Corporation, a Prince George’s County-based, minority–owned general contractor.

The scope of work includes 110,000 square feet of laboratory space, classroom space and collaboration space, as well as the demolition of an existing building. The Center for Health Studies will be used to educate the students of PGCC that hope to go on and work in the healthcare industry. Minority and local subcontractor experience is paramount to the success of this project and Tompkins | Gilford’s experience in this area will serve the College well.
