Station Place II Named Recipient of a 2007 WBC
Craftsmanship Award
Washington, D.C., February 12, 2007
Tompkins Builders is pleased to announce that Station Place
Building II has received a 2007 Washington Building Congress
Craftsmanship Award in the Finishes Category for Marble/Granite.
Completed by Tompkins Builders in August 2005, the building will be
honored on Friday March 30th during the 2007 WBC Craftsmanship
Awards Banquet.
Home to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Station Place
Building II is a 10-story, 530,000-SF building that is a new
construction addition to Station Place Building I. The structural
concrete building features glass curtainwall and three levels of
below-grade parking. A lower level immediately below grade houses
employee support services. The high quality of work performed on the
project is especially evident through the vibrant and award-winning
Chelmsford Grey stonework in the building’s lobby, which was
installed by Lorton Contracting Company.
Ed Small, President of Tompkins Builders stated, “On behalf of
our project team, our dedicated subcontractors and the company, we
are very proud to receive this award from the Washington Building
Congress. Tompkins remains committed to excellence in workmanship
and to raising the level of construction standards throughout the
industry. ”
